Work Test

Once an individual reaches age 67, they are no longer eligible to make contributions into super without meeting the government’s work test. This means being ‘gainfully employed’ means working at least 40 hours in a period of 30 consecutive days during the same financial year that you wish to make any contribution. A written declaration needs to be provided and accepted by your superfund to make these contributions. Once accepted, individuals can contribute up to the standard limits.
